About HCAA

The Highcliffe Community Allotments Association (HCAA) Sheffield was founded in November 2005 by a group of plotholders concerned with the neglected state of much of the site. Its aim is to maintain, improve and develop the site.

The Highcliffe Site

These Sheffield allotments were founded during the First World War and were orginally far more extensive than they are now, with over 300 plots. 200 of these reverted to the overgrown woodlands, the Roughs, which now surround the present lower site to the west and south.

Around 1970, the reduced allotment area was provided with a new systems of drives and some of the plot boundaries were changes. This is the site as we see it today.
